Having arrived home on Thursday from Britain’s high-altitude training camp in Kenya’s Rift Valley, England will compete in the 1500m on Saturday and the 3,000m at the UK Indoor Trials in Sheffield on Feb 11-12, though she has no plans to contest the World Indoor Championships in Istanbul in March.
She is already excited about what lies in store this summer, particularly after joining Lord Coe for a jog around the Olympic Stadium at the official opening of the track in October.
“It was lovely to be there but it made me realise it’s just a stadium with the same 400m track and it will be the same girls who I’ve been racing against for the past two years who will be there.
“My aim is to make the Olympic final in at least as good a shape as I was last year. The 1500m is very unpredictable, as it was last summer. I remember walking to the call-room and thinking there were 10 people here who could win a medal and four people who could win. That’s what it will be like again.”
